Before I get into my many tattoos, here is a little about myself.  I am a 35 year old  California girl, San Diego to be exact.  I am a mother and widow.  My husband of 11 years was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in January 2007.  Since then, I have added more tattoos to my collection in honor and memory of him.

I got my first tattoo at the age of 18 against my mother’s wishes.  It was nothing major.  I got my name because I was too scared to get anything else.  Tattoos have changed a lot since then.  They are more artistic and excepted even if they were not expected I would still have them because I have always marched to my own beat.  Being a heavily tattooed female, I have experienced some positive and some negative things about tattoos.  Believe me, the positive out weigh the negative.

I get a lot of attention and numerous compliments especially in the African American Community.  It is rare to see an African American woman with a sleeve especially a Sailor Jerry one.

I think the colors used in Sailor Jerry tattoos compliment my skin tone best.  I love how it has never gone out of style, it is timeless art.  I also love Japanese style tattoos.

I have about 30 tattoos including my sleeve.  I am a girly girl so most of my tattoos are floral.   My biggest are a Japanese dragon on my thigh and my sleeve.  I have tattoos on mostly every part of my body to include hand, knuckles, neck and feet.  None of them take away from my femininity.   My most sentimental tattoos are my children names, my husband dog tags and his name in a rose on my neck.

As far how I feel about my tattoos, they are a part of me, I think they are beautiful and I would feel naked without them.

As of right now, I am done, I think.  Don’t we all say that?
